HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS: NORMALE, SANT’ANNA, AND IUSS PRESENT THEMSELVES TO LAZIO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS IN ROME. RECTORS’ PRESENTATIONS ON MARCH 13

The Senate of the Italian Republic will support the Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS conference which will be held on Thursday 13 March in Rome at Aula del Palazzo dei Gruppi. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to interact with Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS students and learn about the college life in Pisa and Pavia. All Bachelor programmes will be presented to prospective students from Lazio region who will receive detailed information on university entrance requirements.

Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS offer academic support programs, honors programs and advanced instruction to talented and motivated high school students who may want to engage on a personal level and hear from alumni and current students providing expert advice, guidance and mentoring.

Conference participants include: Maurizio Gasparri, vice president; Francesco Aracri, senator; Adriano Palozzi, regional councillor.

The conference aims to provide more personalized attention and support opportunities to the prospective students. Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS are committed to deliver strong educational outcomes and critical thinking skills focusing on students' future goals, talent, and interests. Institutions are offering degree programs that can be completed reducing to zero the burden of tuition costs, programs designed specifically for academically-advanced students, supplemental instruction, tutoring, practical work experiences, and experiential learning.

There is an emerging sense that advanced education should focus on critical thinking, researching, mathematical reasoning, and the liberal arts are frequently held as the centre of the core curriculum. Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS value student abilities in a broader way, including coursework in analytical and verbal skills, creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Keynote speakers include: Vincenzo Barone, rector of Normale; Pierdomenico Perata, rector of Sant'Anna; Michele Di Francesco, rector of IUSS; academics Maria Chiara Carrozza and Michele Ciliberto; Piero Galeone, ESA Academy; Maria Teresa Zotta, president - Commissione Scuola di Roma Capitale, Rome city council representative, will present the awards to the highest performing students of Normale, Sant’Anna and IUSS.

Professor Alessandro Cecchi Paone will coordinate the conference.
